Tips & Tricks

Make sure that you marinate the boneless chicken thighs for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the flavor and moisture is absorbed.

Be sure to not place too much chicken thighs into the air fryer. This may cause an increased cook time or uneven internal temperature.

How to make Air Fryer Paleo Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

  1. Place the chicken thighs and teriyaki sauce into a large ziplock baggie. Massage the chicken to make sure they are evenly coated.
  2. Let marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Next transfer the chicken thighs to the air fryer basket making sure to place them in a single layer. 
  4. Cook them for 16-18 minutes at 360F flipping half way. Remove when the reach an internal temperature of 165F.

Substitutions

If you don’t have boneless skinless chicken thighs, bone in skin on chicken thighs or chicken breasts is another great option. You’ll just need to add a few minutes to the cooking time to ensure that they are fully cooked.

Be sure to check the internal temperature of the chicken and remove it when it reaches an internal temperature of 165F.

How to store

Refrigerate leftover chicken thighs in an air tight container for up to 4 days.

How to reheat

Remove the lid from the container or transfer it to a microwave-safe plate. Microwave for 60-90 seconds on high.

Instructions
 

  • Place the chicken thighs and teriyaki sauce into a large ziplock baggie. Massage the chicken to make sure they are evenly coated.
  • Let marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Next transfer the chicken thighs to the air fryer basket making sure to place them in a single layer.
  • Cook them for 16-18 minutes at 360F flipping halfway. Remove the chicken thighs when they reach an internal temperature of 165F.

Notes

If the chicken is at room temperature when cooking, they will be done closer to the 15/16 minute mark. If they are marinated in the fridge it will be closer to 18 minutes to be fully cooked.
If you have extra thick chicken thighs or you are using bone in chicken thighs, you will need to increase the cooking time to make sure they are fully cooked.

    Love the ripe except: wht temperature for pre-heat and for cooking? Without that information, the recipe is almost useless.
